Collaboration with Nottingham Collage Make-Up Students studying for a City & Guilds Level 3 in Media Make-up Artistry

Oliver, Beauty and the Beast, Hairspray, and Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat are just some of the famous shows Nottingham College students have worked on with the Nottingham Operatic Society over the years. Chairman, Caroline Harper, said: “It’s part of the Societies’ constitution to educate people within the arts and theatre, and we love having the students back each year. It’s a fantastic opportunity, not only for the students, but for the actors too.”

Katie Elnor worked on the character Motormouth Maybelle, played by actor Janine Nicole Jacques. She said: “It’s been so exciting being part of such a popular Broadway show and getting to work with the actors, who have all been so friendly. The experience has completely changed my perspective of theatre, it’s been so much fun and I’ve learnt loads. It’s definitely an industry I’d like to be part of.”

Actor Alison Hope is playing the part of Velma Von Tussle. She said: “As an actor it’s great to be able to sit down in your dressing room and relax knowing your hair and make-up is in the capable hands of the students. They have been so professional, really helpful and the make-up looks absolutely fantastic.”
