Show Announcement for 2020 - Guys and Dolls Postponed until 2022
Nottingham Operatic Society has been performing in the City for almost 130 years, and the last time we couldn’t stage a full musical was 1940. It is with great sadness that we are announcing that our 2020 production of Guys and Dolls is being postponed until October 2022. Our first priority is the health and safety of our performers, supporters, front of house, backstage teams and our wonderful audiences. In the present circumstances, it is not right to ask you to congregate in large groups for rehearsals, and ultimately performances. We thank our production team - Chris, Rob and Rachael - for trying to find solutions to make a rehearsal plan work, but the external and financial risks are too great.
We are so grateful to the Theatre Royal an our other suppliers for their support in making this difficult decision. The box office are extremely busy but will be in touch with audience members as soon as possible to arrange refunds for any tickets already booked
We are a creative and inventive group, and we will find other ways to work together on music remotely over the coming months. We now promise to keep in regular communication with you all with news, information and ideas to keep us together as a united Company. We have some exciting news about our production for October 2021 - please look out for this announcement in the next few days and share with friends 2021 and 2022 will be amazing performing years for the Society.
